التمريض هو تخصص يهتم برعاية وتقديم الرعاية الصحية للأفراد والمجتمعات. يعمل الممرضون على تشخيص ومعالجة المرضى والمصابين، وتقديم الرعاية الأولية والعاجلة، وإدارة الأدوية، وتنفيذ الإجراءات الطبية والتمريضية المطلوبة، وتقديم النصح والإرشاد للمرضى وأسرهم حول الصحة والوقاية من الأمراض. يعمل الممرضون في مستشفيات، ومراكز الرعاية الصحية، والعيادات، والمدارس، والمؤسسات الصحية الأخرى. وهم يتعاملون مع مجموعة متنوعة من المرضى، بما في ذلك الأطفال، والبالغين، وكبار السن، والأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة، والمرضى النفسيين. يتطلب التمريض مهارات عديدة، بما في ذلك المعرفة الطبية والتمريضية، والقدرة على التواصل والتفاعل مع المرضى وعائلاتهم بشكل فعال، والقدرة على التعامل مع الظروف الطارئة واتخاذ قرارات سريعة ومناسبة. كما يعتبر التمريض مهنة تتطلب التزامًا بأعلى معايير الأخلاقيات والمهنية. يعمل الممرضون عادة كجزء من فريق صحي متعدد التخصصات، حيث يتعاونون مع الأطباء والصيادلة والممارسين الصحيين الأخرين لتوفير الرعاية الشاملة للمرضى. مجالات التخصص في التمريض تشمل التمريض العام، والتمريض النفسي، والتمريض الجراحي، والتمريض التوليدي، والتمريض القلبي والعناية المركزة، والتمريض الاستعجالي، والتمريض العائلي، وغيرها من التخصصات الفرعية التي تركز على المجالات الصحية المحددة.

A. Knowledge and Understanding:
Upon successful completion of the Program, graduates should be able to:
- A1. Recognize the knowledge from nursing science, other sciences and disciplines to make judgments relative to the practice of nursing that is based on research findings and evidence.
- A2. Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of nursing theory and management principles in providing nursing care to client across the lifespan, and in all healthcare settings.
- A3. Identify the acute and chronic illness, and its effects on the bio-psychosocial functioning of individuals, families, and groups.
- A4. Synthesize theories and concepts from liberal education to build an understanding of the human experience into nursing practice.
B. Cognitive/ Intellectual Skills:
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates should be able to:
- B1. Demonstrate skills in critical thinking, problem-solving and decision making in the use of the nursing process in a variety of healthcare settings.
- B2. Value the ideal of lifelong learning to support excellence in nursing practice.
- B3. Utilize awareness, interest and contribute towards advancement of self and of the profession.
- B4. Implement holistic, evidenced-based, safe patient-centered care across the health illness continuum, across the lifespan, and in all healthcare settings.
C. Practical and Professional Skills:
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates should be able to:
- C1. Practice as a professional nurse to facilitate human need fulfillment of individuals, families, groups, communities and populations across the lifespan in a variety of healthcare settings.
- C2. Apply concepts and skills of leadership, management, quality improvement and patient safety in the delivery of high-quality therapeutic nursing interventions.
- C3. Intervene therapeutically to promote, restore, and maintain the health of individuals, families, groups, and communities.
- C4. Provide health education to improve the health of the individuals, families, groups, and communities.
D. General and Transferable Skills:
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates should be able to:
- D1. Communicate effectively with individuals and groups and members of the health team in order to promote effective interpersonal relationships and teamwork.
- D2. Demonstrate professional, ethical, moral, legal, and spiritual concepts into one’s practice within a global environment.
- D3. Conduct research to improve nursing and health services qualities by integrating theory into nursing practice.
- D4. Deliver compassionate, patient-centered, evidence-based care that respects patient and family.
